Providing Healthcare for All

Our Commitment

The ICT Street Team is an initiative by Nurses Global Outreach, Inc. that provides primary care to the homeless in Wichita, Kansas using a mobile medical model to deliver care at the point of contact. Using volunteer nurse practitioners, physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses, students, and a multitude of other healthcare professionals, The ICT Street Team strives to remove the multiple barriers that often cause our homeless citizens to miss opportunities to meet their own healthcare needs. We provide many services including acute illness visits, injury evaluation, chronic disease management, and provide over-the-counter and prescription medications as needed.

Director  of Operations

Mandy Griffin

Mandy's background is in customer service.   She began volunteering, assisting persons experiencing homelessness in 2014. The more she volunteered and got to know people, the more she saw the need for access to healthcare.

In early 2019, she began volunteering with ICT Street Team and first-hand experienced how they were providing medical care to homeless individuals .   It was life changing for her as well as the patients she saw that day who had access to doctors, nurses, prescription medications, laboratory work and services that a lot of them only dreamed of having. She saw the direct impact being made that day and knew ICT Street Team was a place she wanted to be.

Mandy now manages the day-to-day operations of the organization.

Josh Reed

Founder/Chair

Josh Reed, APRN, FNP-C, ENP-C

Joshua Reed is board-certified as a family and emergency nurse practitioner.

As a Kansas native, Joshua has lived in Wichita for a decade. During that time, he has witnessed the toll that homelessness has on individuals and their families. Often, the homeless use emergency departments for primary care and wait until acute and chronic diseases are severe before seeing help.

After over a year of preparation, spending time on the streets, under bridges, in shelters and learning from The Street Medicine Institute as well as Caring Beyond the Boulevard, Joshua started the ICT STREET Team.

His vision is to provide managed care for the homeless in Wichita that meets the unique needs of those who live on the streets.

Joshua has worked in a variety of settings all over the world. He has volunteered for disaster relief missions in Central and South America. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Nursing Practice with an emphasis on care of the homeless population.
